This policy brief, developed with country governments and partner institutions, supports preparations of NDCs 3.0, making the case for embedding renewable energy across sectors, not just as a mitigation tool, but as a systemic enabler of resilience, development, and human wellbeing. The brief outlines six key considerations to help countries integrate renewable energy targets into their NDCs. The paper builds on lessons from previous NDC submissions, addressing key systemic barriers, such as access to finance, and offers options for cross-sectoral solutions that are technically feasible and align with development needs.
