Enhancing Ambition and Transparency in the Next Round of NDCs

The publication builds on six action recommendations for policymakers to align transport with the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Agenda:

  1. Shifting the mobility paradigm towards zero-carbon targets for 2050
  2. Ensuring the resilience of transport systems
  3. Empowering cities with national support
  4. Investing in sustainable rail, inland shipping and multimodal hubs
  5. Enhancing efficiency in freight and logistics
  6. Accelerating electrification with renewable energy

It highlights good practices in Nationally determined contributions (NDCs) and Long-term Strategies (LTS) of thirteen countries (Andorra, Bangladesh, Barbados, China, Costa Rica, India, Latvia, Malawi, Moldova, Namibia, Oman, Sri Lanka, Vanuatu) in relation to each of the recommendations.
